Optimizing Graphics ~ PSP 7
Paint Shop Pro 7 has a nifty little tool that optimizes your graphics in a couple mouseclicks. I recommend using it every time you create a graphic for the web.
To Optimize JPG graphics:
- Open up your image in PSP 7
- Select save as. When the save as box opens, choose options
- When the save options box opens, choose run optimizer

Slide the compression value bar to create the smallest graphic.
To Optimize GIF graphics:
- Open up your image in PSP 7
- Select save as. When the save as box opens, choose options
- When the save options box opens, check version 89a, non interlaced then click run optimizer
- For non transparent grahics, check the none box
- for transparent graphics, check the areas that match this color box, click on the color and select the background color from the color palette.
