Photo Manipulation ~ PSP 7
This image was created using two different free images. The eagle came from Free Images.co.uk and the flag from Comstock.
You may use the images here or grab some of your own from the above links.

Open the eagle image, click on the magic wand tool/ tolerance=30 and click on the black background to select around the eagle
- Click on Selections/Invert
- Click on Selections/Modify/Feather=3
- Click Edit/Copy
- Create a new image 500 x 350 white background (this size of image will give you room to work)
- Click Edit/Paste as New image
- Click Image/Mirror to have the eagle face the other way
- Open the flag image and Click Edit/Copy
- Select the new image with the cutout eagle on it and select Edit/Paste as new layer
- Move the flag layer BELOW the eagle layer ~ move the eagle layer to a position above the flag that you like
- Click on the eagle to select it and then select the magic wand tool
- Click outside the eagle to select around it
- Click Selections/Modify Expand=5
- Click on the flag layer to select it
- Click Edit/Cut ~ This will remove the parts of the flag outside of the eagles head
- Click on the eagle again and from the layers palette change the layer blend mode to multiply
- Click on the flag layer and slide the opacity to 80%
Adding Text On A Path
Click Layers/Add Vector Layer
Select the Preset Shapes Tool and select Eclipse
Draw a vector Eclipse around the eagle where you want the text to be
Add a new Layer
Click the text tool and position it on the eclipse (the A from the text tool will change to have a half circle underneath it when you are on the path)
Type in the font, color and style you prefer in the text box Make Sure you select floating and antalias (I used Impact/size=28/ Leading=5)
Click on the vector layer and delete it
Click on the seletion tool/rectangle and select around the image to eliminate all the extra white space
Click Edit/Copy
Click Edit/Paste as new image
