Creating Curved Border Backgrounds

I have had quite a few people ask me about the curved border I had on the previous site. The original border was created in Corel about a million moons ago, and although I liked the curve, It really didn't line up very well. Now that PSP has a bezier tool, it took me about 20 minutes to create. You should be able to create curved borders over and over using different colors and textures. Have fun!

  • Create new image 200 x 200 background color=white/ 16.7 million colors
  • Select the line tool width=4 and from the control box select bezier for the line type
  • Position your line tool on the new image at the 100,0 coordinate from the lower left coordinates bar.
(You want to draw a line halfway across and halfway down the box)
  • Click and drag the line until you reach 100,100 from the lower left coordinates bar.
  • Release the mouse button
  • Reposition your line tool to read 150,50. Double click the left mouse button and your first curve is created

Repeat the above procedures starting at 100,100 and ending at 100,200 for the straight line and then 50,150 for the double click.

  • Select the magic wand tool and click to the right of the line, selections/invert to select the left area with the line included.
  • Select the fill tool and fill with the background of your choice.
  • Create your own seamless background or take this one below:

  • Select images/effects/drop shadow and choose a drop shadow with the vertical set at -1/ horizontal=6
  • Deselect the image
  • Select the smudge tool set at soften and soften the drop shadow so that it blends when it tiles.
  • Select edit/copy
  • Create new image 1200 x 200 bg color to color to match your sites.
  • Select edit/paste as new selection and position so that the bar coordinates equal 0,0
